We All Agreed to Do This

Life is like an agreement. Before we are born we construct it, negotiate it, modify it and then we go through life according what we agreed to experience in our contract.

It was more than 15 years ago when I was introduced to this idea. I don’t remember where it came from but actually I liked it and it felt genuine right away.

Despite of accepting and believing it I had no idea how to apply it on my life back then.

But now I am grateful to have this concept in my reality because it allows me to have a different perspective on life.

I have gone through so many things in the past few decades and just like everybody else experienced certain life events, challenges and difficulties. They were good and bad, one after another.

My view on the bad ones was very critical with victim mentality, self-blaming and anger and I didn’t really have a much better view on the good ones either as so many times I felt unworthy and undeserving related to them.

Not exclusively but especially in the past six years of my spiritual awakening this perspective of “Life is a contract” started to gain more and more significance for me.

Slowly I was able to teach myself to look at events throughout the lenses of this concept and it also helped me to see my past in a completely different way.

The victim mentality, the self-blaming, and the anger have completely disappeared since the understanding of why I had to experience those undesirable events in my past.

Whether they were opportunities to solve and heal something old or to learn something new the point is that I had agreed to have those experiences, they happened for me, served me and it is worth mentioning that they also served those people who were involved in them.

I also realized that there is no way to avoid the things we have in our contracts. Some of them could be an opportunity to solve and heal a karmic issue or they could be something different but if they are in our contract we will experience them and they will come back to us until we learn the lessons, heal the wounds, solve the problems or go through the challenges.

My personal experiences are very good examples just like the similar life scenarios happening over and over again until learning a lesson or not being allowed to go into a life direction not included in my contract.

Now I look at all of those demanding challenges in my past as blessings and not punishments because I believe that I agreed to experience them in order to learn, heal and grow.

As I mentioned it earlier my view on the good life events was so many times everything but constructive. It required a long process of inner work and self-healing and with that I was able to change my way of thinking. Now I look at them as well deserved rewards and I feel worthy of them with recognizing that they were and are in my contract just like the bad ones.

Every each time these good experiences happen to me I am aware that they are not luck or coincidence and I feel so grateful for them.

As a conclusion we could say that if we believe that we agreed to experience life as it is written in our contract then we better not to complain about anything but instead take everything as a blessing and learn our lessons.

I can say that since I approach life this way I have a better understanding how it works and it feels like that finally I have the basic knowledge of what my agreement could be about.

Of course there is still a lot more in my contract that is why metaphorically saying now I am reading the fine print. It is necessary to do that too and what it means is keep digging deeper and deeper and trying to understand more and more.

I don’t know what kind of major events are still waiting out there for the right time to unfold in my life but keep doing the digging helps me to have a better understanding so when those unexpected surprises come I will already be in a position to respond them a more preferable way.

To accept and believe that life is a prearranged agreement requires courage and open-mindedness. It is like getting a step further to an expanded level of consciousness and exploring a new possibility on the path of finding answers for the questions about our lives and reality.
